POSITION OVERVIEW
CCE Specialties, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator with specific experience in drywall, framing, and acoustical ceiling systems to support our pre-construction and bidding efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically strong, and proficient in the tools and processes of commercial interiors estimating. The Estimator will work under the guidance of the Senior Estimator and VP Director of Estimating to develop timely and competitive cost estimates.
ESTIMATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in preparing and reviewing Bid/No-Bid analyses.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and addenda to develop estimates in alignment with client and company requirements.
- Participate in site visits to evaluate logistics, site conditions, access, and local code requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs using tools like On-Screen Takeoff and input data into estimating software (e.g., Quick Bid).
- Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes; compare pricing and ensure scope clarity.
- Prepare clear and organized estimates with detailed scope inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions.
- Identify plan/spec discrepancies and generate Requests for Clarification (RFCs) or Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Collaborate with construction managers and senior estimators on labor, equipment, safety, and general conditions pricing.
- Support value engineering efforts by pricing alternate materials and construction methods.
- Maintain organized records of historical data, vendor quotes, and cost benchmarks.
- Assist project teams with pricing change orders and post-award modifications.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong understanding of commercial construction estimating methods and processes.
- Familiarity with drywall, framing, acoustical ceilings, and related trades is preferred.
- Working knowledge of building codes, construction means and methods, and material assemblies.
- Proficient in interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Competent with estimating tools (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field OR 3–5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid (or equivalent) required.
- Experience in drywall and acoustical trade estimating is required.
