position overview
The Junior Project Manager is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and administration of construction projects. Working under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager and VP Chief Operating Officer, this role is ideal for candidates beginning their careers in construction management who are eager to learn and grow in a dynamic and supportive environment.
junior pm responsibilities
- Assist in the review of contracts and scopes of work with clients and subcontractors
- Support coordination of post-contract activities and communication with project stakeholders
- Help prepare project documentation including billing breakdowns, schedules, and submittals
- Assist with tracking change orders and documenting job progress
- Help prepare material and equipment lists for each job site
- Support the scheduling of project tasks and coordination with Field Superintendents
- Participate in the preparation of shop drawings and submittals per project specs
- Maintain logs for RFIs, change orders, and post-contract modifications
- Assist in estimating cost impacts related to design and scope changes
- Help prepare monthly reports and post-project evaluations
- Track labor hours and material costs for job analysis
- Provide administrative support in the coordination of subcontractors
- Help compile project closeout documentation
- Support invoicing and material purchase order processing
- Participate in site visits and project meetings as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred OR 1-2 years of construction or project support experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management abilities
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced construction environment
